Not enough long-term comprehensive studies have been conducted to determine if 1:1 computers in the classroom have a positive or negative effect on student learning. Studies have shown that schools participating in 1:1 programs have produced both encouraging outcomes and lackluster results. Funding the programs is an issue for most school districts. Configuring a traditional classroom to accommodate additional equipment has also been a consideration. School districts, as well as parents, need to examine as many of the aspects of 1:1 computers in the classroom as possible to determine the best plan for the district.
